Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 16, 2026

Active Gospel (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our sermon preparation workflow platform and related services. Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, use the Service, or communicate with us. This includes:

  • Account information — name, email address, church or ministry name, and password
  • Profile information — role, denominational affiliation, and preferences you choose to share
  • Content you create — sermon outlines, manuscripts, notes, and any other materials you produce using the platform
  • Billing information — payment data is processed by our third-party payment processors; we do not store full credit card numbers
  • Communications — messages you send to us, including support requests and feedback

2. Information Collected Automatically

When you access the Service, we automatically collect certain information:

  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, time spent on the platform, and interaction patterns
  • Device information — browser type, operating system, IP address, and device type
  • Cookies and similar technologies — we use cookies to maintain your session, remember preferences, and analyze usage. You can control cookie settings through your browser.
  • Log data — server logs, error reports, and performance data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process transactions and manage your subscription
  • Send technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and requests
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve user experience
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers who help us operate the platform (e.g., cloud hosting, AI model providers, payment processors). These providers are bound by data processing agreements.
  • To comply with legal obligations, such as responding to lawful requests from public authorities
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of Active Gospel, our users, or others
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — with notice to you and continued protection of your data
  • With your consent or at your direction

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. This includes encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain data longer to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Upon account deletion, your sermon content and personal data are deleted or anonymized within 90 days, except where retention is legally required.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal exceptions
  • Portability — request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to the processing of your data for certain purposes
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@activegospel.app. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Service. Our cookie usage includes:

  • Essential cookies — required for the platform to function (authentication, session management)
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand how users interact with the platform
  • Preference cookies — remember your settings and preferences

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect platform functionality.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services that process data on our behalf. These currently include:

  • Cloud infrastructure providers for hosting and data storage
  • AI model providers for sermon assistance features
  • Payment processors for subscription billing
  • Email service providers for transactional and marketing communications

Each third-party provider is contractually obligated to protect your data and may only process it for purposes specified by us.

10. AI and Content Data

Sermon content and prompts you submit through AI-powered features may be processed by third-party AI model providers to generate responses. We configure our integrations so that your data is not used to train or improve AI models unless you explicitly opt in. We recommend that you do not submit sensitive personal information through AI-powered features.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required by applicable law.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

13. California Privacy Rights

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Active Gospel does not sell your personal information.

14. European Economic Area (EEA) and UK Users

If you are located in the EEA or the UK, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing your data includes:

  • Contractual necessity — to provide the Service you request
  • Legitimate interests — to improve and secure the Service
  • Consent — where we ask for your permission to process data

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when changes were last made. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
